Victor Kremer, a German-born music publisher and composer, found his way to Cardiff and laid claim to the Composer District, north of Birmingham Drive. He named the streets after famous composers. When the Cardiff school was established, the school and grounds displaced streets named after Beethoven and Bach (see map below). Beethoven Ave has not been relocated.
You can rectify this historical oversight by adding your name to a petition to rename M St. to Beethoven Ave. M St. is located between Summit Ave and Belleview Ave. There are no mailing addresses currently on M Street, therefore renaming M St. to Beethoven Ave. will not impact any Cardiff-by-the-Sea residents.
