Jeff Thayer
Jeff Thayer is currently the Concertmaster of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra. A native of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Jeff began violin lessons at the age of 3. At age 14 he studied violin in Cordoba, Spain. You can read his resume and accomplishments in the links below.
I met Jeff after he performed at the moving and memorable memorial tribute to Joan Jacobs at the Rady Shell. At that time, I told him that I had a vision of establishing a music and arts salon at my home and asked him if he’d consider performing. He said he would. I attended the May 2026 performance of San Diego Symphony where he was the soloist in Alban Berg’s violin concerto. He was magnificent.
Here is what Eileen Wingard, long time violist with the San Diego Symphony said about Jeff:
“The San Diego Symphony is fortunate to have in Jeff Thayer, a concertmaster capable of performing solo works from the violin repertoire as impressively as many of the guest soloists who travel the world.”
